What is Zyprima (Uprima generic)?

Uprima is a new oral drug used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It contains a chemical known as apomorphine which is also used as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease.

How does it work?

Uprima works on a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. It stimulates receptors in the brain which influence the process of having an erection. By stimulating these receptors erections occur more easily.

Is it effective?

The efficacy of Uprima is thought to be comparable with Viagra.

What are the differences between Uprima and other treatments ?

Uprima dissolves under the tongue and is absorbed directly into the blood stream. This is thought to result in a faster onset of action.

The other important difference between UprimaR and ViagraR is that UprimaR may produce an erection without any sexual stimulation.

What is the dosage?

Uprima is available in two strengths 2 mg and 3 mg. Most men would be started on a 2mg dose which may be increased to 3 mg if necessary by your doctor. Take the tablet 20 minutes before sexual activity. You should take a small amount of water before taking UprimaR. The tablet is then left to dissolve under the tongue, a process which takes about five minutes. Do not take more than 2 - 3 mg in an 8 hour period.

How soon does it work?

The average time to onset of an erection is 10-15 minutes.

How often can I use it?

This drug may be taken every day if you wish.

Can I use it with Viagra?

This is not recommended.
